Before the summer of 2023, I went to a recycling center with some friends and I bought a Minolta SLR camera for an incredible price. I felt connected to the camera, and was excited to experiment with film again. Earlier that year, I experienced a traumatic event in Colorado and wanted to reclaim my experience. After taking a purposeful break from my craft for almost a month, I revisited Colorado with a breath of fresh air and took the new camera with me. I created a parallel of new experiences while I was there: I photographed with a new camera, color film since I have never, and created new experiences. I photographed what I saw through my eyes, and played with light and shadow to create a narrative.
